site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 2,433 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 12.2%

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,115,132, after 20,013 tests identified 2,433 new infections on Monday, 70.69 per cent of which were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 12.16 per cent.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 532 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 175 cases and Shoumen Region with 142.

The active cases are 196,321. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 2,403, including 311 in intensive care. Of the 299 new hospital admissions, 79.93 per cent were not vaccinated.

The infected medical staff have reached 23,660.

Another 551 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 637,596.

Sixty-four fatalities were reported (82.81 per cent unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 36,162.

With 1,853 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,325,241 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,053,901 people are fully vaccinated, and 703,983 have received a booster jab.
