Prime Minister Kiril Petkov will attend a regular meeting of the European Council on March 24 and 25 in Brussels, the government's press service said on Wednesday. European leaders will discuss Russia's military aggression against Ukraine, security and defence, energy, economic issues, COVID-19 and foreign relations, the statement said.
On Thursday, heads of state and government will also hold a joint session with US President Joe Biden. The talks will focus on support for Ukraine and its people, as well as strengthening transatlantic cooperation in response to Russia's aggression.
On the first day of the meeting in Brussels, Prime Minister Kiril Petkov will present to European leaders Bulgaria's proposals for joint EU purchases of natural gas, price caps and reduction of fuel excise duties.
The European Council will be followed by an inclusive summit of the Eurozone, which means the participation of all 27 Member States. During his visit to Brussels, Prime Minister Kiril Petkov will also hold bilateral meetings, the press service of the Council of Ministers added.
