Chairman of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) Mustafa Karadayi attended the ALDE party's leadership meeting in Brussels to discuss further measures to help Ukraine, the MRF press office said on Thursday.

ALDE co-chair and MRF MEP from Renew Europe Ilhan Küçük hosted the meeting, which was attended by more than 30 party leaders from the ALDE family. Among them were Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna and chairman of the Renew Europe group in the European Parliament Stéphane Séjourné, according to the MRF release.

During the summit, the Liberals declared their "full support for the Ukrainian people and the courage they show." According to the leaders of the liberal family, Ukraine is demonstrating not only resilience against the Russian aggression, but also its commitment to parliamentary democracy is in the midst of war.

"We have sent a strong message to the world, namely: the Liberals are with Ukraine. Our member parties and liberal leaders have not only shown solidarity but also undertaken decisive action from the outset. It is no coincidence that European governments led by liberals, and the European Council chaired by Charles Michel, have taken the toughest measures against this brutal war," Mustafa Karadayi was quoted as saying by the MRF press office.

The Liberal leaders concurred that Ukraine's neighbours, international organizations and civil society organizations involved in overcoming the humanitarian crisis must be further supported.

The participants discussed and shared views on items on the agenda of the European Council session and the NATO Summit in Brussels on Thursday.
