President Rumen Radev reiterated Thursday that Bulgaria will continue to provide support to Ukraine "within its capacity". "Bulgaria should help all people who are fleeing a war, and we will continue to support Ukraine within our capacity," he told reporters on his way to a public event.

He reconfirmed his position that Bulgaria should send personal protection means for civilians in Ukraine, including bullet-proof vests and helmets.

The President's remarks come on the backdrop of a deep rift in Parliament - and the government coalition - over whether or not Bulgaria should be sending military aid to Ukraine.

The Bulgarian aid is on the agenda of the ongoing Bulgarian visit of Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
