site.btaTwo Moldovans Arrested for Armed Robery of Ukrainian Refugees

The Burgas District Court has placed under arrest two nationals of Moldova for armed robbery committed in Sveti Vlas (on the Black Sea) on April 27. V. S. and V. O., aged 53 and 42, are accused of taking by force money, jewellery and other items from the accommodation of two Ukrainians.

The Ukrainian family let the accused in their dwelling after the Moldovans requested access for hotel-related activities, prosecutor Georgi Chinev of the Burgas District Prosecution Office told a news conference Monday. The accused then took out a gun, tied the man up and threatened his wife. They stole money and items worth over 197,000 leva.

One of the accused has been detained in Varna Region, while the other was arrested in Veliko Turnovo Region. 

The Burgas police called on Ukrainians in Bulgaria to be extremely cautious during the upcoming summer season as they could be targeted by criminals.
