site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 720 New Cases Confirmed, Test Positivity Rate at 8.4%

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,157,919 after 8,565 tests identified 720 new infections on Tuesday, May 3, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/.

The active cases are 137,558. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 803, including 75 in intensive care. Out of 148 new hospital admissions on Tuesday, 73.7 per cent were not vaccinated.

Another 4,881 COVID-19 patients in the country recovered on Tuesday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 983,414. Twenty-seven fatalities were reported in 24 hours (25 of them were not vaccinated), bringing the total to 36 947.

With 894 vaccine doses administered on Tuesday, the number of doses reached 4,383,741. A total of 2,056,129 people have received a second dose, and 747,505 have been given booster jabs.
