Top goal scorer in the history of the Bulgarian national football team Dimiter Berbatov and Sofia Deputy Mayor Dimiter Borshosh Saturday welcomed the UEFA Champions League cup which is making a stop in Sofia.

A long line of football fans was waiting in the leafy square in front of the National Palace of Culture convention centre to see the trophy and have a picture taken with it.

Welcoming the trophy, Borshosh said he was happy that the European Capital of Sport Sofia plays host to the UEFA Cup on its tour. Borshosh noted that thanks to its active sports life and diligent preparation Sofia has received a permanent designation as European Capital of Sport.

The UEFA Champions League trophy will go to the winning team of the final match in Paris on May 28 between FC Real Madrid and Liverpool FC.

Berbatov said that he cannot choose which of the two teams to favour for winning the Champions League cup.
