Bulgarian athletes won five medals - two gold and three silver - at the 2022 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup series in the Spanish city of Pamplona.
In the finals of the individual events on Sunday, Stiliana Nikolova won gold for her clubs and ball routine, and the Bulgarian ensemble ranked second on three balls and two ribbons.
On Saturday, Boryana Kaleyn became the champion in the all-around, and Nikolova came in second. Kaleyn missed Sunday's finals due to an ankle injury.
Stiliana Nikolova’s clubs composition was ranked with 33,450 points, she came in second in ball with 32,600 points, behind Daria Varfolomeev (Germany) with 33,300 points. The Bulgarian finished fourth in the final with 29,600 points. The Bulgarian headquarters submitted a contest for the assessment, but it was rejected. On the hoop Nikolova allowed a significant drop and remained eighth with 29,050 points.
The Bulgarian ensemble won a silver medal in the finals in balls and ribbons with a score of 28,700 points and remained fifth in five hoops with 29,000 points, as well as fifth in the all-around on Saturday. The new team Vaya Draganova, Jenina Trashlieva, Sofia Ivanova, Rachel Stoyanov, Margarita Vasileva and Kamelia Petrova have been training together for about a month.
Italy won the title of balls and ribbons with 29,600 points, and in third place was Azerbaijan with 27,550. The Italians were first in hoops with 36,050 points, ahead of Spain with 31,650 and Azerbaijan with 31,000 points.
