Bulgarian boxer Ergyunal Sebahtin, 21, won silver in the 48 kg category at the European Boxing Championships (EUBC) in Yerevan, which was his debut appearance in a forum of such a high level. Sebahtin lost 1-4 to Georgia's Sakhil Alakhverdovi.

Bulgaria won a total of three medals at the European Boxing Championships. In addition to Ergyunal's silver, Daniel Assenov (54 kg) and naturalized Cuban boxer Javier Ibanez Diaz (57 kg) won bronze medals. In the total medal count Bulgaria placed eighth.
