Bulgarian national football team coach Yassen Petrov stepped down from the post after the squad lost 2-5 to Georgia in a UEFA Nations League match in Razgrad, Northeastern Bulgaria, on Sunday. Petrov announced his resignation immediately after the match late on Sunday evening.

Technical Director of the Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) Georgi Ivanov will lead the team in the next two away matches against Gibraltar on June 9 and Georgia on June 12, a BFU source told BTA on Monday.
