Calls for the citizens of an EU Member State to support the servicepersons that are a part of the illegal Russian invasion in Ukraine are absolutely unacceptable, the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on its Facebook page. The post came after on Monday the Russian Embassy in Sofia called for donations for the Russian military personnel and their families.

The Bulgarian Ministry pointed out that no money transfers can be completed due to the sanctions imposed by the EU.

The Foreign Ministry categorically condemns the Russian aggression in Ukraine, which is a gross violation of international law and the territorial integrity of a sovereign country.
