A total of 428,456 Ukrainian nationals have entered Bulgaria since the start of the war against their country on February 24, 2022, according to information posted on https://ukraine.gov.bg on Monday.

Of these, nearly 85,887, including 39,143 children, remain in Bulgaria.

As many as  26,085 Ukrainians are accommodated in hotels, according to the website.

Temporary protection registrations number 121,179.

The National Employment Agency reports that 30,000 people fleeing the war have so far received advice on starting work in Bulgaria. Over 13,000 job vacancies for Ukrainians have been announced, and over 6,000 have landed a job, nearly half of them in accommodation and food service activities.

Reuters quoted EU Home Affairs Commissioner Ylva Johansson as telling reporters in Prague on Monday that at the moment, almost the same number of people were entering the EU as returning to Ukraine and the flow has returned to the pre-invasion levels.

Johansson said Czechia was the country with the largest per capita number of Ukrainian refugees, followed by Poland, Estonia, Lithuania, Bulgaria and Latvia.

Since Russia attacked Ukraine in February, more than 6 million Ukrainians have fled to the bloc, the EU Border and Coast Guard Agency Frontex said at the end of June. About 3.1 million of them had already returned home, it said.
