site.btaSofia Mask Mandate Period Cut from 30 to 16 Days

The Sofia Regional Health Inspectorate (SRHI) on Wednesday issued a new order, cutting the period for which epidemic-control measures will be in effect in the capital city to 16 days (August 4 – August 19 inclusive) from 30 days (August 4 - September 2), as was the initial decision.

The measures, including mandatory wearing of facemasks and maintaining 1.5 m physical distance in indoor public spaces, frequent workplace disinfection and ventilation, and restricted hospital visits, were ordered on Tuesday.

The order was revised after Health Minister Assen Medjidiev held a meeting with SRHI Director Dancho Penchev to discuss the epidemic situation in connection with numerous questions received at the Health Ministry and the Inspectorate concerning the epidemic-control measures.
