site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 420 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 20.9%

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,233,470, after 2,013 tests identified 420 new infections on Saturday, of which 61.43% were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/ on Saturday. The test positivity rate now stands at 21.86%.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 98 positive tests, followed by Burgas Region with 47 cases and Varna Region with 39.

The active cases are 16,096. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 984, including 52 in intensive care. Of the 22 new hospital admissions, 63.64% were not vaccinated.

Another 132 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,179,833.

Two fatalities were reported (one of them unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 37,541.

With 146 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,511,402 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,067,822 people are fully vaccinated, and 58,213 have received a second booster.
