site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 1,403 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 17.6%

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,241,273 after 7,992 tests identified 1,403 new infections on Monday, of which 67.28% were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 17.6%.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 261 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 120 cases and Stara Zagora Region with 100.

The active cases are 13,348. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 830, including 51 in intensive care. Of the 173 new hospital admissions, 83.82% were not vaccinated.

The infected medical staff have reached 25,595.

Another 1,110 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,190,326.

Eleven fatalities was reported (72.73% unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 37,599.

With 1,200 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,521,123 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,068,949 people are fully vaccinated, and 865,187 have received a booster jab (including 62,748 reboostered).
