site.btaNew Measures in Support of Ukrainian Refugees in Bulgaria

The caretaker Cabinet on Wednesday approved new measures in support of the refugees from Ukraine in Bulgaria.

Operational Programme 2014-2020 was amended to allocate an additional BGN 30 million to meet the basic needs and support displaced persons from Ukraine who have been granted temporary protection in Bulgaria. 

Additional expenditures were approved on the Tourism Ministry 2022 budget for advance financing of applicants under the Programme for Humanitarian Assistance to Displaced Persons from Ukraine who have been Granted Temporary Protection in Bulgaria, adopted by Council of Ministers Decision No. 317 of 2022. 

The additional funding will cover BGN 5,159,762.70 inclusive of VAT, which is the cost of 435,323 overnight stays verified for the period from July 1 to 31, 2022. This is the second successive payment under the programme.
