"Bulgaria is providing humanitarian and military technological assistance to Ukraine within the framework of the Bulgarian National Assembly resolution of May 4, 2022," Bulgarian caretaker Defence Minister Dimitar Stoyanov said, addressing a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) at the Ramstein Air Base, Germany, on Thursday, Stoyanov's Ministry said in a press release.

Stoyanov told the participants in the meeting that Bulgaria is supplying medical packages and is accepting Ukrainian service persons for training at military educational establishments.

The Chief of Defence, Admiral Emil Eftimov, and Deputy Defence Minister Teodora Genchovska also took part in the UDCG meeting.

On May 4, Bulgaria's Parliament resolved to limit Bulgarian non-humanitarian aid to Ukraine to military technological assistance in the form of repair of military equipment. On August 22, the 24 Chasa daily quoted Stoyanov as saying that Ukrainian military equipment was not repaired in Bulgaria at this point despite a framework agreement on mending 80 T-72 tanks.
