site.btaTraditional Mountain Running Marathon Pirin Ultra To Take Place in September 23 to 25

The traditional mountain running marathon Pirin Ultra will be held in September 23 to 25 along the challenging tracks and peaks of Mount Pirin, the organizers of the event said. 

Held for the first time in 2016, in 2019 the race became part of the Skyrunner World Series. 

The current sixth edition of the event again has three routes: Route A - 160 km long, elevation gain 11000m+; Route B – 66 km long, elevation gain 4400m+; Route C – Pirin Ultra extreme with a length of 38 km and elevation gain of 3300m+. 

Bulgarian qualified skyrunners Assen Radoulov and Kostadin Gyumov are expected to take part in the extreme Route C run. 

The official opening of Pirin Ultra is at 7 pm on September 23, at the town square of the host city of Bankso, Southwestern Bulgaria.
