site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 937 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 14.3%

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,262,224 after 6,575 tests identified 937 new infections on Tuesday, of which 59.02% were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 14.25%.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 316 positive tests, followed by Burgas Region with 66 cases and Varna Region with 58.

The active cases are 9,674. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 601, including 47 in intensive care. Of the 88 new hospital admissions, 75% were not vaccinated.

The infected medical staff have reached 25,885.

Another 810 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,214,817.

Six fatalities were reported, all of them unvaccinated, and the death toll now stands at 37,733.

With 1,520 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,552,338 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,072,021 people are fully vaccinated, and 892,256 have received a booster jab (including 80,581 reboostered).
