site.btaWorld Walking Day Events to Take Place across Bulgaria

The Bulgarian Federation of Sports for All (BFSA) is organising the 30th edition of World Walking Day 2022. The campaign has financial support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and will be held under the auspices of Minister Vesela Lecheva.

World Walking Day is part of the 2022 BFSA State Sports Calendar, under the Programme for the Development of Sports for All of the Youth and Sports Ministry and is in implementation of the National Programme for Physical Activity and Development of the Bulgarian Population.

The national World Walking Day campaign will be held in 15 municipalities of the country through mass walking events. In Sofia, it will take place on October 8 along a route of about 10 km, beginning at Lozen village stadium and ending at the village of Lanina Mogila.

On a global scale, the event is part of the programme of The Association For International Sport for All TAFISA.

The sports events aim to promote regular physical activity, and especially walking as a physical activity which improves health, fitness, working capacity and longevity of people, regardless of their age, gender, social and health status.
