There are no plans to evacuate staffers from the Bulgarian Embassy in Kyiv despite the situation in Ukraine, said Deputy Foreign Minister Kostadin Kodzhabashev during briefing at the Foreign Ministry here on Friday. He noted that his Ministry is in constant contact with the staff of the Bulgarian diplomatic mission, which resumed work on September 12.
Kodzhabashev reported that the staff is prepared to continue work on the ground with plans for evacuation in case of any escalation.
According to him, the Embassy offers all necessary conditions for a normal stay for about a week for the entire staff of six. Helmets, bulletproof vests, and gas masks are also available.
Bulgaria strongly condemns Russia's military escalation in Ukraine, including the massive airstrikes over the past two weeks against Ukrainian cities, causing human casualties and almost irreparable damage to civilian infrastructure, Kodzhabashev reiterated.
