site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 147 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 10.9%

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,281,155 after 1,349 tests identified 147 new infections on Saturday, of which 54.42% were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 10.9%.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 44 positive tests, followed by Burgas Region and Varna Region - each with 17 cases.

The active cases are 9,514. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 638, including 59 in intensive care. Of the 11 new hospital admissions, 63.64% were not vaccinated.

The infected medical staff have reached 26,153.

Another 24 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,233,725.

Two fatalities were reported (both unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 37,916.

With 105 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,583,168 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,073,485 people are fully vaccinated, and 921,112 have received a booster jab (including 48,543 reboostered).
