The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry voiced extreme concern at Tuesday's blasts of Russian-made missiles in Polish territory which claimed two lives. It is in close contact with the NATO Allies and the EU partners, and is closely following the situation, the Ministry said in a position posted on its website on Wednesday.
On Tuesday evening, Poland's Foreign Ministry confirmed that a Russian-made missile had landed in an eastern province near the border with Ukraine.
"We emphasize our full solidarity with Poland and the Polish people. We condole with the bereaved families. We expect all facts and circumstances of the incident in Polish territory to be clarified," the Foreign Ministry said in its position.
It condemned strongly "Russia's barbaric missile strikes against Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure on Tuesday". Russia must immediately end its military aggression against Ukraine, the Foreign Ministry said and offered condolences to the Ukrainian people.
"At this point it is of key importance to maintain the unity of the Allies and partners in NATO and the EU and our staunch support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people in the face of the ongoing Russian aggression," the Foreign Ministry also said.
