site.btaEthnic Bulgarian from SW Ukraine Awarded after Surviving Seven-Month Captivity
An ethnic Bulgarian from Tarutyne, Southwestern Ukraine, was presented with a certificate to the amount of UAH 10,000 during a local event dedicated to the Day of Ukrainian Land Forces. The award was conferred on Liliya Dzhigova [name might be misspelled] on behalf of the Tarutyne Municipal Council, the Bolhrad regional military administration said.
She was captured during the war as a nurse of a military medical company and was released seven months later.
Honorary certificates were also conferred on service persons from Bolhrad, where over 60% of the population are Bulgarians.
