The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,290,140 after 965 tests identified 56 new infections on Saturday, of which 55.36% were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 5.8%.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 19 positive tests, followed by Varna Region with 6 cases and Burgas and Plovdiv Region with 5 cases each.

The active cases are 4,425. Currently, 385 patients are hospitalized, including 30 in intensive care. Of the 6 new hospital admissions, 100.00% were not vaccinated.

The infected medical staff have reached 26,270.

Another 7 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,247,634.

No fatalities were reported, and the death toll remains unchanged at 38,081.

With 10 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,601,288 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,074,606 people are fully vaccinated, and 937,787 have received a booster jab (including 65,218 reboostered).
