site.btaDefence Minister Stoyanov Visits Ukraine

Caretaker Defence Minister Dimitar Stoyanov is paying a visit to Ukraine, according to a Twitter post by his Ukrainian counterpart Oleksii Reznikov. He wrote on Monday evening: "Grateful for Bulgaria's decision to provide security assistance to Ukraine. Looking forward to further developing [bilateral] defence cooperation."

Bulgaria's Defence Ministry has not announced the visit.

On December 16, the Bulgarian Parliament voted 166-48 to ratify an agreement between the two countries' defence ministries on the gratuitous provision of armaments, materiel and ammunition. The groups of BSP for Bulgaria and Vazrazhdane urged against the agreement.

The MPs decided that the list of armaments would not be promulgated.
