site.btaBulgaria's First Ukrainian Shelf Unveiled at Sofia City Library

The first Ukrainian shelf in Bulgaria was unveiled at the Sofia City Library, the Ukrainian Embassy said in a Facebook post on Tuesday. It is part of a worldwide project unfolding under the auspices of Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska and supported by Ukraine's Foreign Ministry, Culture and Information Policy Ministry and Book Institute.

The Sofia shelf was created on a donation from the Kyiv School of Economics. The Ukrainian Embassy delivered a selection of over 120 books about Ukraine, in Ukrainian and English. They include classic and modern fiction, books about history, art, tradition and cuisine, and children's literature.

The official opening was attended by Ukrainian Ambassador Vitaly Moskalenko, Sofia Deputy Mayor Miroslav Borshosh and Sofia City Library Director Yulia Tsinzova.

The project was conceived before the war in Ukraine. The aim is for other nations to learn more about Ukrainian history, culture and tradition.
