site.btaSocialists, Vazrazhdane Challenge Sending Weapons to Ukraine before Constitutional Court

The parliamentary groups of the Bulgarian Socialist Party for Bulgaria (BSP) and Vazrazhdane have asked the Constitutional Court to declare unconstitutional a National Assembly resolution to provide military and military-technological assistance to Ukraine, the press centres of the two parties reported on Friday. The petition has been signed by 26 MPs from Vazrazhdane and 24 MPs from the BSP.

The law ratifying the agreement on the provision of armaments, equipment, and ammunition between the Bulgarian and Ukrainian Ministries of Defence was promulgated in the State Gazette on Friday.

Parliament passed the law on December 16. The legislature resolved that the list of military aid items should not be gazetted. The BSP insisted that the list should be made public and confirmed that they will attack the law before the Constitutional Court.
