The film Twice Upon a Time in the West directed by Bulgarian Boris Despodov will be screened in February at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City, said the Bulgarian National Film Center, which is a sponsor of the production. Between February 3 and 21, MoMA celebrates actress and women's rights activist Claudia Cardinale with a retrospective that spans her nearly 70-year career and includes some 20 films, including 12 restorations.

While being known around the world for her beauty, Cardinale brings emotional vulnerability and intelligence to her many varied roles. Her fluency in Italian, French, English, Spanish, Sicilian dialect, and Tunisian Arabic has helped her collaborate with some of the most influential directors in the world, including Federico Fellini, Luchino Visconti, Abel Gance, Alexander Mackendrick, Sergio Leone, Werner Herzog, Richard Brooks.

MoMA will offer its visitors classics such as Visconti's The Leopard and Rocco and His Brothers, Leone's Once Upon a Time in the West, and Fellini's 8 1/2, Richard Brooks's The Professionals, Mackendrick's Don't Make Waves, Manoel de Oliveira's Gebo and the Shadow. The retrospective will also include international films starring Cardinale and directed by Mauro Bolognini, Valerio Zurlini, Pasquale Squitieri, and Marco Bellocchio.
