The leading Bulgarian snowboarder Radoslav Yankov finished fourth in the second slalom of the World Cup in parallel disciplines in the winter resort of Bansko.
Yankov achieved his best result of the season, as he managed to qualify for the semi-finals, eliminating South Korea's Lee Sang-ho in the semi-final and Italy's Daniele Bagozza in the quarter-final.
In the semi-finals, however, the Bulgarian made a mistake and was 1.81 seconds behind Austria's Arvid Auner. In the small final Yankov lost 0.72 seconds to Germany's Stefan Baumeister and thus missed out on recording his first podium finish of the season.
The winner of the race was Italian Maurizio Bormolini. Shortly after the start, his rival Arvid Auner made a rough mistake and crashed, which allowed the Italian to win easily with a lead of 10.04 seconds over Auner.
With his fourth place today, Yankov moved up to 14th in the standings in the parallel slalom discipline. The Bulgarian has 78 points. Bormolini is the leader with 266 points, followed by Austria's Alexander Payer with 225 points and Fabian Obmann with 197 points.
