A press conference of Vazrazhdane was held in BTA Stara Zagora on Sunday. It was attended by Iskra Mihaylova, MP, and Daniel Prodanov, regional coordinator of the party.
They announced that Vazrazhdane is asking President Rumen Radev and caretaker Prime Minister Galab Donev to include the trade unions CITUB and Podkrepa in the group that will negotiate with the European Commission potential revisions of Bulgaria’s Recovery and Resilience Plan to preserve coal-fired power plants.
Plamen Dimitrov of CITUB and Dimitar Manolov of Podkrepa have already agreed to participate in the negotiating group and now it remains to be seen whether there will be political will for their inclusion by the Prime Minister and the President.
Vazrazhdane will send a letter to the President and hopes that the other political parties in Parliament which favour preserving the Maritsa-East mining and energy complex will back their proposal.
According to Iskra Mihaylova, Bulgaria stands a chance to renegotiate the Plan, but Vazrazhdane doubts that the ministers in the caretaker cabinet will make an effort, and therefore insists that the trade unions should be actively involved in this process.
