site.btaBulgarian Music Project "Classics and Ethno" to Be Presented in Jordan

Future projects to support the tourist and archaeological region of Petra (Petra Archaeological Park) in Jordan were discussed during a meeting between Bulgarian Ambassador to Jordan Dimitar Mihailov and Prof. Bilal Khrisat, leading archaeologist and director of the complex, Bulgarian Embassy in Jordan stated Monday. The meeting took place at the invitation of Dr. Suleiman Farajat, Regional Tourism Development Authority Chairman.

The music project "Classics and Ethno" is planned to be included in the cooperation. The Bulgarian event will be held this year in the new cultural events complex in the Beidha area, the Little Petra, which is currently under construction and will be the first major event in the amphitheater.

"Classics and Ethno" includes classical pieces for soprano, piano, and violin, ethno and ethno jazz performed by Petya Plukchieva, Maya Vassileva-Chetrokova, Krasimir Dzhambazov and Vasil Vasilev. The arrangement, especially made for the concert in Jordan, has Arabic motifs and is the work of Prof. Miltcho Vasilev.

During the meeting, the proposal of the Sofia University Rector Prof. Anastas Gerdzhikov was discussed. A delegation of Bulgarian universities visited both Petra and the Wadi Musa region and presented the local young people with the opportunities for further education or specialization in Bulgaria.
