The Central Election Commission (CEC) and the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) believe that it would be practically impossible to secure paper for the paper ballots for elections on March 26 but that problem would not exist if elections are held April 2, chairperson Kamelia Neykova said here Tuesday. She was speaking to Parliament during a hearing where she was asked to explain the preparation and logistics of organizing the upcoming elections, including the results of the tests carried out with the machine voting paper.

Neykova said that CEC is ready to make the first decisions, which are expected of it immediately after a presidential decree sets the date of elections. "We are also ready to determine the distribution of seats for each multi-member constituencies, which will be done according to the National Statistical Institute data from the last census," she added.
