The delegations headed by the Prime Ministers of Bulgaria and North Macedonia, Kiril Petkov and Dimitar Kovachevski, met in the corridors of the Munich Security Conference, said the government press office. Also participating were North Macedonia’s Deputy Prime Minister Bojan Marichic and Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani. The purpose was to follow up on the dialogue established between the two governments.
The two Prime Ministers assessed in positive terms the work of the expert groups and the direct communication, and agreed that sectoral cooperation was a good way to enhance relations and strengthen political dialogue.
“As regards the upcoming meeting of the mixed expert commission on history and education on February 24 and 25 in Sofia, we hope that the commission will continue to work in a constructive environment and show openness and a will for progress,” Bujar Osmani said in a Facebook post.
It was pointed out during the meeting that two-way trade reached close to 900 million US dollars in 2021, which is a 32 per cent increase and higher than the pre-pandemic levels.
