Meeting on Monday, the Council of Ministers made the following decisions as reported by the government’s information service:
-- approved 4,100,000 leva in contingency expenses for activities for prevention, control and mitigation of the effects of disasters and allocated funding for renewal of potassium iodide stocks and for purchase of spare parts for the National System for Early Warning and Announcement.
- adopted a decision to convene a sitting of the National Assembly referring to Art.78 (4) of Bulgaria’s Constitution.
The government will request from the Chairman of the National Assembly to convene the legislature at an extraordinary meeting on March 1 to adopt a decision for personnel changes to the Council of Ministers.
- approved Bulgaria’s position for a EU Transport, Communications and Energy Council (Energy) which takes place on February 28 and March 1 in Brussels. During the meeting the European Commission is expected to present an analysis on the current situation with regards to the security of oil and natural gas supplies and energy prices in the context of military hostilities between Russia and Ukraine.
Bulgaria will urge for a coordinated EU action, focusing on measures to ensure the sustainability of the energy system and accessibility of energy for individuals and businesses. PP
