site.btaEconomy Minister Ninova: Bulgaria Should Not Deliver Weapons to Ukraine

Bulgaria should not deliver Bulgarian weapons or dual-use technologies to Ukraine, Deputy Prime Minister of Economy and Industry Minister Korneliya Ninova told bTV here on Monday. She added that she would defend her position before the Council of Ministers.

So far, the Council of Ministers has not discussed a request from Russia or Ukraine to deliver weapons, Ninova said.

“Direct export of weapons is a direct involvement in the war, and we are a party that wants peace,” stressed Ninova, who is the leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP).

Commenting on the demanded resignation of Defence Minister Stefan Yanev, Minister Ninova said that Yanev is a Continue the Change member, and it is their right to nominate him or demand his resignation. She has convened the BSP’s parliamentary group and Executive Bureau to discuss the nomination of Todor Tagarev as Defence Minister.
