The National Social Security Institute (NSSI) has been assured by the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation (PFRF) that the “payment of Russian pensions on the territory of Bulgaria is planned to take place soon,” the NSSI said Monday. In turn, the NSSI undertakes to promptly transfer the pensions to the eligible recipients when the first quarter payroll of 2022 is received and the transfer to the NSSI bank account becomes a fact.

According to a 2009 agreement, the NSSI and PFTF pay the sums to persons residing on the territory of the other country by the 10th day in the last month of every quarter. From the beginning of March, the Bulgarian institution had communication problems involving the Russian pension fund, but the efforts of the relevant NSSI administration have resulted in the assurance. The PFTF payment order for the sums transferred to NSSI is issued in euro, the press release specified.

For the fourth quarter of 2021 PFTF sent a payroll featuring the Russian pensions of 5,465 persons to the total sum of 872,826.86 euro, equal to 1,707,100.96 leva.
