"We continue to believe that Bulgaria must not supply weapons and ammunitions in Ukraine," Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Korneliya Ninova, who is also the leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, told journalists here on Thursday.
"If the issue is brought up, we would not support such a decision. We are consistent in our position," she said, commenting the upcoming visit of U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.
Ninova noted that so far the U.S. has not asked Bulgaria to send weapons and ammunition to Ukraine. "I have not seen one [such a request] and it has not been submitted to the [Economy] Ministry," she said, adding that her Parliamentary Group has not informed her about anything like this either.
Ninova denied allegations that a coalition council was held on Thursday, because of which the scheduled weekly Cabinet meeting was postponed.
