site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 1,960 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 11.95%

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,126,146 after 16,390 tests identified 1,960 new infections on Monday, 69.59 per cent of which were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 11.95 per cent.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 496 positive tests, followed by Varna Region with 165 and Plovdiv Region with 160 cases.

The active cases are 190,664. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 2,106, including 246 in intensive care. Of the 292 new hospital admissions, 73.63 per cent are not vaccinated.

Another 4,336 COVID-19 patients recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 899,152.

Forty-eight fatalities were reported (91.67 per cent unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 36,330.

With 1,569 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,336,850 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,047,680 people are fully vaccinated, and 712,125 have received a booster jab.
