site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 1,943 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 13.11%

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,128,089 after 14,820 tests identified 1,943 new infections on Tuesday, 69.94 per cent of which were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 13.11 per cent. 

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 522 positive tests, followed by Varna Region with 184 and Burgas Region with 183 cases.

The active cases are 191,282. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 2,055, including 236 in intensive care. Of the 246 new hospital admissions, 78.86 per cent are not vaccinated.

Another 1,305 COVID-19 patients recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 900,457.

Twenty fatalities were reported (80 per cent unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 36,350.

With 1,797 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,338,642 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,048,030 people are fully vaccinated, and 713,476 have received a booster jab.
