site.btaFebruary Producer Prices Index Increases by 32.3 Per Cent Year-on-Year

The total producer price index in February 2022 increased by 32.3 per cent compared with February 2021, the National Statistical Institute reported here on Wednesday.

In February 2022, price increases were registered in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (81.8 per cent), in manufacturing (17.9 per cent), and in the mining and quarrying industry (9.7 per cent).

Higher prices were observed in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products (30.2 per cent), the manufacture of wood and of products of wood and cork, except furniture (26.1 per cent), the manufacture of paper and cardboard (24.8 per cent). 

The total producer price index in February 2022 increased by 1 per cent compared with January 2022. Prices grew in manufacturing, by 2.7 per cent, and in the mining and quarrying industry, by 2.3 per cent. Prices dropped in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, by 2.4 per cent.
