The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,137,780, after 10,528 tests identified 1,176 new infections on Tuesday, 66.4 per cent of which were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 11.2 per cent.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 383 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 95 cases and Burgas Region with 85.

The active cases are 183,892. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 1,953, including 214 in intensive care. Of the new 179 hospital admissions, 77.1 per cent were not vaccinated.

The infected medical staff have reached 24,059.

Another 4,301 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 917,376.

Fourteen fatalities were reported (78.6 per cent unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 36,512.

With 1,907 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,350,311 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,050,248 people are fully vaccinated, and 722,191 have received a booster jab.
