site.btaRunners from 15 Countries Compete in 7th Stara Zagora Marathon

Runners from 15 countries took part in the 7th Stara Zagora Marathon here on Sunday. A record-high number of athletes, 800, competed in the three race distances.

The 42 km race for men was won by Turkish athlete Omer Alkanoglu, who finished in 2 hours, 31 minutes and 15 seconds. This is his second win in the Stara Zagora Marathon after the one in 2020. In the women's event, first place went to Bulgarian athlete Nadezhda Angelova with 3 hours, 4 minutes and 1 second.

The winner in the men's half marathon was the same as last year, Bohdan Semenovich of Ukraine, who finished in 1 hour, 7 minutes and 19 seconds. In the women's event, Militsa Mircheva of Bulgaria finished first in 1 hour, 13 minutes and 48 seconds.

The 10.5 km race was won by Bulgarian athletes Hristiyan Stoyanov and Lilyana Georgieva, respectively.
