Transport and Communications Minister Nikolay Sabev has made changes in the management of Transport Construction and Reconstruction Company EAD and the Sofia and Plovdiv Airports, said the Transport Ministry press office.

The executive director of Transport Construction and Reconstruction Company, Bozhidar Dzhelebov, was relieved of office without being relieved of responsibility. The decision was prompted by suspected foul play in a project for deepening the Port of Varna. The project is being probed by the Interior Ministry and the prosecuting magistracy. 

Ivo Yanakiev has been appointed a member of the Board of Directors of the company until a competition is held for the vacant position of an executive director.

Sofia Airport executive director Krassimir Peshev has been appointed on the Board of Directors of Plovdiv Airport together with Doychin Angelov, pending a competition for the position. Plamen Stanchev takes over the management of Sofia Airport.

Plamen Spasov and Petar Georgiev have been relieved of office as members of the management of Plovdiv Airport EAD.

An audit of the company found that it is in a difficult economic situation. For the last three years it has been making a loss of almost 3 million leva due to poor management, the Ministry of Transport and Communications said.
