site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 359 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 5.5%

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,160,706, after  6,502 tests identified 359 new infections on Wednesday, 66.85% of which were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 5.5%.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 118 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 36 cases and Stara Zagora Region with 25.

The active cases are 124,042. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 629, including 67 in intensive care. Of the 68 new hospital admissions, 76.47% were not vaccinated.

The infected medical staff have reached 24,493.

Another 4,626 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 999,645.

Twelve fatality was reported (91.67% unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 37,019.

With 1,038 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,389,337 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,057,359 people are fully vaccinated, and  751,445 have received a booster jab.
