The defence ministers of Bulgaria and Slovakia, Dragomir Zakov and Jaroslav Nad, held a working meeting on the sidelines of the GLOBSEC 2022 Bratislava Forum, the Defence Ministry reported Friday. They discussed the security challenges in the region and Europe following the Russian invasion in Ukraine, as well as the importance of modernizing the armed forces.
The two ministers concurred that there are similar challenges and threats on the regional scale. They agreed on closer cooperation and exchange of experience between their ministries in the field of countering hybrid attacks and disinformation.
The GLOBSEC global security forum is being held from June 2 to 4 in Slovakia. The Bulgarian delegation is led by Prime Minister Kiril Petkov.
