site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 1,005 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate Nears 20%

A total of 1,005 new COVID-19 cases were reported across Bulgaria on Friday, identified by 5,203 tests, resulting in a test positivity rate of 19.31%, show data posted on coronavirus.bg. 

Close to 60% of the newly infected persons were not vaccinated against the virus. 

The active cases number 10,328, of which 448 are hospitalized and 38 are in intensive care. 

A total of 73 hospitalizations of COVID-19 patients were reported Friday, of which over 68% were unvaccinated persons. 

A total of 8,080 people have recovered from the virus. 

The number of administered COVID-19 vaccine doses on Friday added up to 2,320, bringing the total since the vaccination campaign's start to 4,422,693. 

A total of 2,075,801 people have completed their vaccination course, 777,549 have received the booster jab and 8,288 have received a second booster dose.
