Introducing COVID-19 Restrictions across the country is not necessary, outgoing Health Minister Asena Serbezova told reporters on Tuesday. Serbezova is taking part in an international summit organized by the World Health Organization that will present a report on the financial protection of Bulgarian households.

"Varna [on the Black Sea] is one of the regions that will require anti-epidemic measures, however for the time being the hospitals have a sufficient number of beds," the Minister said and added that patients with the coronavirus will not be treated in infectious diseases hospitals only.

Serbezova said that healthcare facilities are not overburdened for the time being, despite the rising number of infected people. The Minister urged people to observe the recommendations for disinfection, to wear masks and to keep a safe distance, as well as to use the opportunity to get the vaccine.

No businesses will have to close due to the COVID wave, according to Serbezova.
