The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,194,883 after 2,841 tests identified 822 new infections on Saturday, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/ on Sunday. The test positivity rate for the day was 28.9%.

The active cases number 18,184. There are 887 hospitalized patients with COVID-19 in the country. This includes 34 persons admitted to hospital on Saturday, 58.82% of them unvaccinated, and 47 persons in intensive care.

Another 62 people recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,139,370.

No patients died on Saturday, meaning that the death toll now remained at 37,329.

A total of 163 vaccine doses were administered on Saturday, bringing the total administered shots against COVID-19 in Bulgaria to 4,457,704. A total of 29,289 people have received a second booster.
