site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 189 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 15.2%

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,239,870 after 1,243 tests identified 189 new infections on Sunday, of which 70.90% were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 15.2%.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 35 positive tests, followed by Burgas Region with 23 cases and Varna Region with 16.

The active cases are 13,066. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 882, including 50 in intensive care. Of the 20 new hospital admissions, 70.00% were not vaccinated.

The infected medical staff have reached 25,578.

Another 48 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,189,216.

Three fatalities was reported (100% unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 37,588.

With 62 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,519,923 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,068,776 people are fully vaccinated, and 864,220 have received a booster jab (including 62,294 reboostered).
